Social innovation Expert and has a MSc in International Business and BA in Business Studies
She has 12 years of experience in the Insurance sector and the AEC sector and has extensive knowledge and experience in product management, marketing and communication. She focusses on the notion that partnering works best if you take into account what drives the partners. She believes that people are capable of great things, but are rarely given the chance. Organisations that want to distinguish themselves, can only do so if they give their employees the possibilities to evolve.
Mrs. Dorlas is responsible for several successful projects in social innovation. These projects are focused on helping people ‘with a distance to the labor market’ to get a job in the AEC sector, via a digital work passport. She also excels in proposition management and building up support organisations.
Information management Expert and has an MSc in Civil Engineering and Construction Management
He has over 15 years of working experience in the AEC sector and has worked for leading innovative organisations in BIM and sustainability. He is the linking pin in local BIM initiatives with public authorities and SMEs and one of the founders of the future BIM school for Infrastructural projects and the idea of a Dutch BIMcampus. He is also responsible for building successful Communities of Practice (CoP) in BIM and building quality. These CoPs are collaborations between public and private organisations, such as local/national authorities, trade associations, SMEs.
Mr Kolk is also heading a large partnership for implementation of the new Dutch Law on Quality Assurance in Buildings. Within this partnership (with all major construction certification institutes in The Netherlands) he develops qualification schemes for digital quality assurance and supports local authorities and builders with the organizational change.
Consultant
MSc in Social Science in the fields of geography and international development studies. Has since graduation had almost nine years of experience as a consultant in applied research and innovation at KEA, including work in project management, process facilitation, monitoring and evaluation, development of monitoring tools and systems and CSR reporting. Tue has a strong interest in sustainability and as a student he has worked in NGO’s reducing urban carbon footprints and investigating value chains of Danish companies with regard to unsustainable social and environmental behaviour.

B.Eng. from Oslo Met and M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Technical University of Denmark, with specialization in energy use in buildings and building services.
Work experience in different consulting companies, and currently teaching energy optimizing of building services. Experienced with working in Revit and building simulation programs.

Morten Boesen is a docent at KEA Digital. He holds a PhD in the field of regional development, business marketing and networks from Roskilde University. The last 10 years Morten has worked with practice-oriented research projects within the field of digitalization and business as a researcher, supervisor, facilitator, funding specialist and project manager.

PhD in fracture mechanics and MSc in structural engineering with roles including researcher, developer, entrepreneur, technical manager and QA/QC manager in e.g. R&D institutions and start-up companies. Involved in a number of technology development and business development ventures in all stages from ideation and conceptualization over development and realization to commercialization and operation including authoring R&D applications and research programmes, performing R&D, disseminating and reviewing R&D results, outlining fundraising etc.
Senior Lecturer
Ba in Architectural Technology and Construction Management 2002 and at the present time studying a MSc in Construction Law, Technology, Construction Management and Informatics. Christian is an experienced Lecturer with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry for over 10 years. Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, Life Cycle Cost, Life Cycle analysis, Sustainability, Construction Drawings, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Planning BIM, and Danish Construction Law. Currently working on an innovation project about Digital Construction Law, and how to implement Construction Law in combination with BIM in the education of Architectural Technology and Construction Management.

Educated in computer science from Roskilde University. Have worked as a developer in the private industry for 30 years. Mostly with big client server systems in various industries. Always using object-oriented languages. Currently a lecturer at KEA. Interests at KEA lies in full stack development. Recently Erik started working with blockchain technology and he will try to introduce blockchain as a subject in computer science at KEA.
Lecturer PhD
Jan Fuglsig Lambrecht is a lecturer at KEA, Copenhagen School of Design & Technology. He has a Master of Science degree from Technical University of Denmark, from where he also completed his PhD in Construction Management with the title: ‘A Framework for Selecting an IT Evaluation Method – in the Context of Construction’. He has work experience from different consulting companies and educational institutions; Technical University of Denmark, Danish Technological Institute, Danish Standards and Aalborg University. He has expertise on a broad range of issues related to implementation and use of digital tools in construction. Lastly, he has been involved in various EU funded projects (FP7, Interreg etc.) for 10+ years.
Lecturer
Lars-Frederik Kellermann has a solid and in-depth experience within BIM, Revit and ICT. He has been a BIM, Revit and ICT Coordinator for the last 8 years, and has explored all the corners of digital construction, where interface problems typically arise, and where errors are made.
He has been the BIM, Revit and ICT responsible in the “Architecture Design and Planning” department in NNE (50+ pers.) and has been an active frontrunner in NNE’s use of BIM models in VR as an emerging concept. During his time at NNE, Lars-Frederik has also been Chairman of an international BIM, Revit and ICT (ERFA) group with members from NNE’s foreign offices (Germany, USA, China, Switzerland, France and India).
Senior Lecturer PhD
M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Technical University of Denmark. Ph.D. in Indoor Environment. Dedicated indoor climate expert and HVAC designer with years of experience within teaching. Twelve years’ research experience within indoor environment, including both laboratory and field experiments using various measuring techniques, especially human response studies. Environments investigated have been schools, childcare institutions, offices, dwellings, student dormitories and aircraft cabins. Extensive dissemination of research to a wide variety of stakeholders. Experience as project leader on national and international projects, and as work package leader on EU funded projects.

Strong expertise in press relations, content management and strategic communication. Professional writer with tenures working as a journalist within the building sector.
Senior Lecturer PhD
James Harty is a senior lecturer at KEA, Copenhagen School of Design & Technology. His PhD researched “The Impact of Digitalisation on the Management Role of Architectural Technology”, (OpenAir RGU). James was instrumental in the schools’ adoption of BIM in 2006, with the implementation of collaborative methodologies and in dealing with disruptive technologies. He has co-authored a book about this, “Getting to Grips with BIM”, Routledge 2016. He sees BIM as instrumental in tackling climate change, sustainability, especially embodied carbon, and performance-based design.
He has a Masters in Urbanism, and he was a co-author of a report preserving Temple Bar in Dublin.
Head of Programme
Born in Rome and lived in Italy until he was 20 years old. Moved to Denmark in 1985 and studied Civil Engineering and after graduation he has spent the next 10 years working with different designing engineering and construction management companies. In the year 2006 he started as a Head of Programme in Construction Architecture at the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology. The responsibility of the Head of the Programme is related to the daily management and the pedagogical, didactical and professional development of the Programme.
Web designer
Born in 1986 in a small town in Abruzzo, he moved to Rome in 2005, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphics and Multimedia Design and a Master’s Degree in Design, Visual and Multimedia Communication at the Faculty of Architecture of the “La Sapienza” University of Rome.
Since 2012 he has been working as a freelancer and collaborating with various communication agencies dealing with all aspects of multimedia: from Brand Identity to editorial layout, from web design to video editing and post-production.
Since 2014 he has been collaborating with the communication company Archimedia181 srls as Art Director.
Communication and events’ organizer
Master’s Degree in Marketing & Communications at IED Milano, a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at Luiss Guido Carli – Rome, and more than twelve years of expertise as a 360 degree Communications Specialist.
After a long experience as a press office in the entertainment industry, dealing with international clients, she deepened her skills as a PR for the Jumeirah hotel chain and then she dealt with events by taking care of the national launch of music shows. In IBIMI, she directly follows both internal and external communication, and coordinates the planning and participation in the events in which IBIMI is involved.
Senior multimedia designer
Graduated with a Degree in Graphics and Multimedia Design and a Master in Global Communications at the American University of Paris, obtained in 2013. Since then, she worked as a consultant in Public Information for the UN Environment, as communications and event manager for European associations and as a freelancer in multimedia design and communication. She completed different trainings in in project management and attained the PRINCE2certificate in 2019.
Energy analysis expert
IBIMI member. Mechanical engineer with a specialization in materials science, after graduation he followed a master on sustainable mobility.
Since 2011, in collaboration with Mesos, he has been involved in designing of training courses and teaching in the fields of energy efficiency in buildings and renewable sources, thus acquiring thorough knowledge in the energy design of buildings and in legislation related to these subjects. He is member of IBIMI and in 2020 he achieved the Building Smart Professional Qualification, global benchmark for OpenBIM training.

Presently, he is the President of the Portuguese Technical Committee for BIM Standardization, Senior Specialist at CEN/TC442 (BIM European Standards) and member of the EU BIM Task Group supported by European Commission and CIB TG90 Information Integration Group. At the national level is the coordinator of several task forces for digital transition. Additionally, is an Independent Expert for the European Committee, playing a relevant role on the evaluation of H2020 proposals and Technology projects
As a Consultant, António Aguiar Costa works for the public sector and clients, defining and implementing the digital vision and the respective innovation processes, implementing BIM management procedures and BIM-based procurement frameworks.
António Aguiar Costa has published more than 30 papers on BIM, e-business and construction management and procurement and is the principal investigator in several research initiatives and projects.
Senior Researcher at INESC-ID and Assistant Professor in Software Engineering and Databases at IST Computer Engineering Department.
He has a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Lisbon, and his work focuses primarily the application of data integration techniques (sensors and BIM models) to improve the effectiveness of building control systems. Paulo Carreira participated in the DataStorm project (FCT), the European SMARTCAMPUS project, in the field of intelligent buildings, and EISTER e-Infranet, on “Green Sustainable Data Centers”. He is a member of the management committee of the cost action IC1404 “Multi-Paradigm Modeling for Cyber-Physical Systems (MPM4CPS). IEEE Senior Member and member of the Portuguese FM Association.

Dr. Barry McAuley is a Chartered Construction Project Manager and Assistant Head of School of Multidisciplinary Technologies at TU Dublin. Prior to his current position, Barry spent a number of years working in the AEC sector, which enabled him to develop his managerial skills through employment in a selection of diverse roles. Barry completed a Ph.D. in 2016, which focused on using BIM to demonstrate how early integration of Facilities Management professionals into the design team can reduce life cycle costs. To date, he has been involved in successfully delivering both National and International funded research initiatives ( H2020, Enterprise Ireland, Department of Education and Skills). As a result of his research to date, he has had a significant body of work published through a combination of industry reports, conference proceedings, and journal papers. He will act as the principal investigator for WP5 of the Arise project

She is a MSc, MA in Architecture, currently PhD candidate in Architecture. Over 10 years of work experience in different sectors, social aspects of acceptance of innovations and innovative approaches, sustainable architecture and environment. Author of curricula and lecturer in sustainable skill for green economy; vas expertise in a broad range of sustainability issues and social aspects. She has been working on various EU funded projects (Erasmus+, H2020, IPA/INTERREG, CEI) for over ten years, leading work packages on stakeholder involvement, research and policy paper development, dissemination, exploitation of results.
IECE Development Director and Expert in business models and market analyses
She has a PhD in economics and MSc in international management, with over 25 years of professional experience of working in economy and management. Expertise in sustainable business models, economic behavior, market analyses, strategic management, human capital, knowledge management. She has the experience and extensive knowledge in establishing centers for leadership and strategic development, with special accent on the cooperation with the private sector (SMEs), educational institutions, public institutions and municipalities. Winner of the 2020 Knowledge Management and Intellectual Capital Excellence, for the innovative model of development of learning organizations.
Finance Manager, ARISE and GenComm
BelfastMet expert in all aspects pertaining to effective financial management of European funded programmes.
Over 25 years’ financial expertise relating to effective financial and programme management, budgetary control, design of bespoke reporting systems and financial analysis.
Key financial roles have included management of the management accounts function, financial business partnering, financial analyst, as well as programme and financial management of substantial, externally funded, multi-partner collaborative networks.
Proven track record demonstrated by successful financial management of over 75 European funded programmes and special initiatives, as well as successful programme management of substantial multi-partner projects led by BelfastMet.
In my current role I am currently the international finance manager responsible for both the €9.4m multi partner GenComm programme, funded by Interreg NWE, and the €1.12 m ARISE project , funded by the EU Horizon 2020 Work Programme.
Previously I also was the Finance Manager on the £1.25m multi-partner BIMcert programme, funded by Horizon 2020, led by BelfastMet.

ARISE Programme manager
Paul has a robust record of achievement in all levels of management roles including founder/CEO of multi-award winning start-up SMEs, securing several international awards for innovation and leading highly successful international collaborative projects. Project successes include forming, submitting and winning several EU R&D bids including the €12.36M GenComm renewable energies bid and the H2020 BIMcert project – the first H2020 project secured by any college in the FE sector. Other project work includes leading winning project bids on renewable energy, energy storage, green technology, clean technology, cyber security, IOT adaptations and Smart Cities.
Paul is the ARISE Programme Manager. He also manages the GenComm project. The Interreg North West Europe funded GenComm project led by Belfast Met is seeking to address the barriers preventing the greater integration of renewables into our energy matrix and to navigate a new energy pathway to energy security. GenComm (GENerating energy secure COMMunities); is a Smart Hydrogen, Integrated renewable energy, generation and storage project designed to develop a new model for exploiting generated electricity from renewable sources to provide energy security for remote communities.
Paul has also led the H2020 BIMcert project which can help transform the building industry. A qualified building workforce is vital if the EU is to reach its energy and climate targets. Belfast Metropolitan College led the way with the BIMcert project which seeks to improve the skills of middle and senior level professionals and blue collar workers in the area of sustainable energy efficient construction.
Joanna is the project administrator for ARISE and GenComm. The GenComm project is an Interreg North-West Europe-funded renewable hydrogen project. Her main duties and responsibilities include: assisting in the operational delivery of the GenComm programme and liaising with partner organisations located throughout Europe. She has extensive experience of working in public sector administration where she honed her exceptional communication, interpersonal and teamworking skills.
Whilst employed by the Northern Ireland Civil Service, she gained invaluable managerial experience, which augmented her ability to work independently and reinforced her excellent decision-making ability.
She holds Master’s Degrees in both Geography and Teaching, and a Level 6 Diploma in Public Service Interpreting.
Communications Officer –BIMcert and GenComm
Since July 2018 I have been the Communications Officer on the Belfast Met led European energy projects GenComm and BIMcert.
In my current role I edit two quarterly newsletters. For both newsletters I seek contributions from the European partners involved and indeed from outside interested organisations.
I proof both newsletters and also seek editorial opportunities for my Programme Manager in business magazines.
The role is varied and also includes business skye conference calls with the European partners. I write press releases, complete content management on different sites, and produce presentations on powerpoint. I provide PR updates in regular meetings and help compile communications reports.
Previously I was a staff journalist at the Bangor Spectator newspaper and at Agenda NI magazine. My previous pr roles have included being a Queens University Press Officer, Action MS Communications Officer, and a PR Account Executive at DCPPR.
I have a BA Hons Degree in History and European Studies and an NVQ Level 4 in Newspaper Journalism.
I enjoy going for meals, swimming, walking and travelling to both book festivals and Manchester United games.
ACE Head of the EU Research Projects

Over 15 years of work experience in different sectors of the built environment, from small independent companies to global blue-chip groups in Europe and the US. Expertise in a broad range of sustainability issues in the built environment. Working on various EU funded projects (FP7, H2020, Erasmus+) for over six years, leading work packages on dissemination, exploitation, stakeholder involvement, and policy paper development.
ACE Assistant Project Officer and BIM expert
Larissa has eleven years of experience in design and construction. She is passionate about the way BIM is changing the working process within Architectural Practices and in the Construction Industry, and she has a keen interest in sustainable architecture, Collaborative design and self-built projects.
She graduated as an Architect and Urbanist with a Masters of Civil Engineering from USP (Brazil), has a Master of Science in Sustainable Environmental Design from the AA School (UK) and has successfully completed the Professional Studies in Architecture – Part 3 programme at UCL (UK)
